Complete and Organized List of Every Known Ween Song
This page contains the Internet's only complete and organized list of every known Ween song. [work in progress]
The list is roughly (but not strictly) chronological, grouped into eras of the band that correspond to their major studio albums.
What Belongs in This List?[edit | edit source]
General rule of thumb: every Ween song known to mankind should be included in this list.
Some specific guidelines:
Songs with multiple recordings
Different studio recordings of the same song should be listed separately. For example, "Big Jilm" should have two entries: one for the Eravis demo version, and one for the Pure Guava album version.
Versions of the same recording that are not significantly different (such as the original 1990 CD versions vs. the 2001 remasters of GodWeenSatan songs) should not be listed separately. If it's a close call (some Shinola songs) then we should err on the side of separate listings.
Covers
Cover songs should be listed here only if they have a studio (non-live) recording (for example, "Wonderful Tonight" or "The Shot Heard 'Round the World").
Live-only covers are not included here; they belong on the Covers page.
Live songs
The multitude of live performances of various Ween songs should not be listed individually here; it's beyond the scope of this list and it's already covered adequately by the website Brownbase.
Original songs written by Ween that are live-only, with no known studio version (such as "The Final Alarm"), should be included here.
Unknown or ambiguous information
Songs that are lost or only theorized to exist should be included, with their lost status indicated in the chart.
Songs that may or may not be considered to be by Ween (like "Big Dick Black", the Gener's Gone recordings, or Z-Rock Hawaii) should be included (err on the side of inclusion). However, songs from side projects like Moistboyz or Freeman should typically not be included. Falsely attributed songs like "Surfeited" should not be included (a list of misattributed songs can be found here).
If the recording date of a song is unknown and we don't know for sure which era it belongs to, then all we can do is take our best (educated) guess.
Songs which are Ween-related but not by Ween
Songs that are Ween-related but not by Ween should not be included. For a list of Ween-related songs that are not by Ween, see List of Ween-Related Songs Not By Ween.
