"Vallejo" is a song by Ween, released as a B-side on the "Voodoo Lady" single.
Song Details[edit | edit source]
"Vallejo" was probably recorded in 1992 during Chocolate and Cheese sessions. The song was played live as early as the fall of that year.
Live Performances[edit | edit source]
"Vallejo" was played commonly during the Chocolate and Cheese tour; a 11/14/1994 live recording, which is notably over 30 minutes in length, is heard on the Paintin' the Town Brown album. The song became much less common in later years. In 2021, Ween brought the song back after not having played it for more than a decade.[1]
Josh Homme of Kyuss has described performances of "Vallejo" from when he toured with Ween in 1994. During the song, Ween would stack amplifiers, drinks, and other objects on top of Claude Coleman's drum kit, creating a visual sculpture that produced a cacophony of noise and feedback.[2]
Meaning[edit | edit source]
The song is a tribute to the painter Boris Vallejo. According to Dean Ween, "This is a song about and for a great artist. Kinda like that John Denver song about Van Gogh. This is about Boris Vallejo. You know who that is? He draws like the naked chicks on the dragon . . . ."[3]

Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Vallejo! Oh
(Coke and sex until dawn)
Vallejo! Oh
(Great lover of art and poetry)
Vallejo! Oh
(We take a Norwegian cruise but we don't go to Norway)
Vallejo! Oh
(I show you my collections of medallions and wine)
Valle...
(We go dancing)
(I buy you ice cream)
(I lick your pussy and then cum inside)
Vallejo! Oh
(My mama told me about Jesus Christ)
Vallejo! Oh
(I ride the coast with you on the back of my horse)
Vallejo! Oh
(Together, we shall experience the beauty that is only beheld within the rainforest)
Valle...
(I will take you to the rainforest)
(We shall cruise the rainforest)
(Feel the moisture)
(Does it make you want me?)
(Does it make you feel me?)
(Look, look at the tree)
(What a beautiful tree)
(faux Arabic chanting)
Vallejo! Oh
(I show you my collections of medallions and wine)
Vallejo! Oh
(I ride the coast with you on the back of my horse)
Vallejo! Oh
(I'll love you, if you think you've got the time)
Vallejo! Oh
(You see what I'm saying, woman?)
Valle...
(The white sails of Boris Vallejo's ship upon the port)
(I will paint you like the colors I see in myself)
(I will paint you a picture, a picture of you and of me)
(And together we shall ride on the waves of sheer artistry)
