Mountain Dew
"Mountain Dew" is a live-only song by Ween.
Song Details[edit | edit source]
"Mountain Dew" is based on the Appalachian folk song "Good Old Mountain Dew", composed by Bascom Lamar Lunsford and Scotty Wiseman. The song has been played and covered in many different versions, by many different artists over the years. There may be original elements to the Ween version, but it is not known which version of the song was the one that directly inspired them, making it impossible to know for sure.
There is no known Ween studio recording of "Mountain Dew", and it is known as a live-only song which was played a number of times in the early 90s only. A 10/31/1991 recording from the Pod tour can be found on the bonus DVD to At the Cat's Cradle, and a 3/14/1992[1] recording from several months later is on Paintin' the Town Brown. Ween has not played "Mountain Dew" live since 1993.[2]
