Recording and Composition

"I Really Miss You (And I'm All Alone)" is in the key of G major.

The track was recorded in September 1993 by Gene Ween and Jared Kennedy at Brookridge Farms. The original working title was "Tracey Song". Dean Ween was not associated with the track at all, and wasn't involved in its writing or recording.

The vocals are performed by Jared Kennedy, who also wrote the lyrics. Jared had previously performed backing vocals on Spring Song and is also one of the many backing vocalists heard on The Blarney Stone.

Lyrics

You've gone to college and I'm still at home
It sucks being here cause I'm all alone
I don't want to talk on the phone
I really miss you and I'm all alone

It's cold and wet and the sky is gray
You've grown up and now you've gone away
I miss the times when we would laugh and play
But you've grown up and now you're far away

The sun is cold and the sky is black
I miss you much and I want you back
My heart is cold and my life is black
I want to see you so please come back

You've been sick and you're feeling bad
You're far away and I'm very sad
Tracy I've grown to miss you so
You've gone away and now I'm all alone
