"I'm Fat" is a non-album song by Ween, released as a single in 1994.

Song Details[edit | edit source]

Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]

"I'm Fat" is in a somewhat bluesy variation of D minor.

The lead vocals are sung by Guy Heller (credited as "Calvin Celsius" in the liner notes), who also co-wrote the song with Ween.[1] The pitch-shifted "fat vocals" are performed by Gene Ween. Dean Ween is credited with "musics", presumably meaning he performed the guitar, bass, and drum machine on the track. Andrew Weiss is credited with mixing both versions of "I'm Fat".[2]

Alternate versions[edit | edit source]

The B-side on the single, which is not titled, is a remixed version of "I'm Fat" with Heller's vocals removed, some of Gener's vocals played backwards, chip-eating sounds and a slowed backing track. Although it often circulates under the informal title "I'm Fat Pt. 2", it is a remix, not a different song.

Live Performances[edit | edit source]

Ween played "I'm Fat" live three times in the fall of 1993, and have not played it live since then.[3]
