"North Pappy Flappy" is an unreleased, live-only song by Ween. The loose, jammy song functioned as an extended intro to "L.M.L.Y.P.".

Song Details[edit | edit source]

Composition[edit | edit source]

Like live performances of its sister song, "North Pappy Flappy" is in the key of E minor, and features extensive use of a talkbox alongside Gene Ween's vocals.

"North Pappy Flappy" is a jam based on Aerosmith's "Last Child" - specifically the line "take me back to south Tallahassee," which was corrupted into "take me back to north pappy flappy."[1]

Live Performances[edit | edit source]

"North Pappy Flappy" was first performed at a Jimmy Wilson Group concert in April 1999, and was later performed by Ween five times during the White Pepper era.[2]

Years later, in 2016, the song was brought back for one more performance, once again followed by "L.M.L.Y.P.".[2]
