"L.M.L.Y.P.", which stands for "Let Me Lick Your Pussy", is a song from the 1990 album GodWeenSatan: The Oneness.
Song Details[edit | edit source]
Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]
"L.M.L.Y.P." is a psychedelic funk rock song with some elements of hip hop and the Minneapolis sound. The entirety of the almost nine-minute song revolves around a dual bass and guitar riff in the key of F minor, with variations beginning to appear towards the end of the song. For live performances, it is transposed down to E minor.
The song is a musical homage to Prince and combines elements of his songs "Shockadelica" and "Alphabet St." combined with original Ween elements. Gene Ween said in 1995 that his mother does not like the song: "She's a big Ween fan, but it's the one song she doesn't like."[1]
Live Performances[edit | edit source]
Played live as early as 1989, the song has mostly remained a fairly common inclusion in live sets over the years. However, it has only been played three times since 2016. It was also not played during the 1996 country tour.[2] Ween is sometimes known to extend the song considerably into a lengthy jam, as can be heard on the 7/8/2000 Live at Stubb's version which is over 36 minutes long. In addition, during the White Pepper era, certain live performances would include an extended jam intro dubbed "North Pappy Flappy".
Dean Ween Group played the song a few times in 2015,[3] and Gene Ween played the song once at a solo performance in 2010.[4]
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
The lyric sheet in the GodWeenSatan liner notes does not include the lyrics to "L.M.L.Y.P.", stating instead, "(Ween is in big trouble dudes)".[5]
