Song Details[edit | edit source]
Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]
"Dilated Pupils" is not a song proper, instead being a spoken rant about dilating pupils and the narrator's seemingly violent dad over an unsettling a capella backing track.
Interestingly, a portion of the song seems to show up at the beginning of "In the Node of Golgotha" as shown on The Live Brain Wedgie!/Wad Excerpts.
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
You got my voice up high enough? Hi, welcome to Washington. I'd like to take the time to thank you all for coming around tonight to see what I have to offer. Well, there's 300,000 Ukrainian children[?] with a free trial off on sale, but still, there's room left enough for the pupils. You see, daddy, your pupils are dilated. Why are your pupils always dilated, daddy? Why do they have to be dilated when you come home from work every day and you pour your first bag of Jack Daniels? Why does your pupils have to be dilated? You have to be looking at me with that weird thing like you're going to hurt me or something. Daddy, don't hurt me. It's okay, I'm 18 years old, I can take care of myself now, daddy. Don't hurt me. No, no, no, no. I can, I can pay my bills.[1]
