Song Details[edit | edit source]
Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]
"Common Bitch" is a noise/hard rock song with prominent stoner rock influences. It is in the key of E minor.
The lead vocals are performed by Gene Ween. Guitar is played by Dean Ween. Like most of the songs on GodWeenSatan, the drums are played by Dean Ween and the bass is played by Andrew Weiss.
Live Performances[edit | edit source]
Played live as early as 1989, the song was fairly commonly heard in the early 90s. Since then, it has been a less frequent but still occasional inclusion in live sets.[1]
A 3/6/1992 live recording is found on the bonus DVD to the At the Cat's Cradle album, and a much later 9/14/2001 recording is heard on GodWeenSatan: Live.
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Official lyrics, handwritten by Dean Ween, were printed in the GodWeenSatan liner notes:
Common bitch, ma head itch
Scratch it bitch, common bitch
Common bitch, little girl
Common bitch, wear good stitch
Fetch it bitch, common bitch
Common bitch, little girl
Common bitch, papa's home
No shit, common bitch
Common bitch, little girl[2]
