Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]
"Bumblebee" is a psychedelic noise rock song within the key of D minor.
The lead vocals are performed by Gene Ween. Guitar is played by Dean Ween. Like most of the songs on GodWeenSatan, the drums are played by Dean Ween and the bass is played by Andrew Weiss.
Meaning[edit | edit source]
The song is supposedly about the time Gener was weeding his father's lawn, when he accidentally disturbed a hornet's nest.[citation needed]

Live Performances[edit | edit source]
"Bumblebee" was performed a handful of times in the early '90s. A live recording from December 1990 can be heard on the Paintin' the Town Brown album. Since then, the song has been mostly retired, with he sole exception being at a special anniversary concert on 9/14/2001, which was released on the album GodWeenSatan: Live. [1]
