Live Performances[edit | edit source]

Played live as a standalone song as early as 1989, the song was practically retired until 2000 when Ween started reintroducing it into their live sets as a companion to "Mushroom Festival in Hell". It has been played occasionally ever since.[1] A 9/14/2001 recording is found on the album GodWeenSatan: Live.

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

Official lyrics, handwritten by Dean Ween, were printed in the GodWeenSatan liner notes:

It was a cold, dark night
No hope in sight
I left my little hut
And went to the palm
To get some guava

Licking the palm 4 guava
Licking the palm 4 guava
Yes! When you're old and you're not very young
Lick the palm[2]
