Wad or Ween Wad refers to at least three different cassette EPs given to friends in early 1988. Each of the three known tapes features different track listings. None of the Wad tapes are in circulation and are considered lost media. In 2021, a photo of the cassette and handwritten insert appeared in an eBay listing, showing the following tracklist:
Version One[edit | edit source]
# | Song |
1 | Gladiola Heartbreaker |
2 | White Haai |
3 | I Got a Weasel |
4 | Love Excerpt |
5 | Stacey |
6 | Big Baboons |
Three of these track titles ("Gladiola Heartbreaker", "I Got a Weasel", and "Stacey") later appeared on 1988's Wad Excerpts, while "Big Baboons" appeared on the Boognish Rising Thanksgiving 2014 Sampler.
Another version is known to exist with the following tracklist:
Version Two[edit | edit source]
# | Song |
1 | Wayne's Pet Youngin' (Demo) |
2 | Marble Tulip Juicy Tree (Demo) |
3 | Big Baboons |
4 | I'm So Tired |
5 | Stacey (Demo) |
Version Three[edit | edit source]
A third version is known to exist with an unknown tracklist. It is not known how many total versions were produced.
Other tracks from the Wad Sessions[edit | edit source]
Given the tracklist of 1988's Wad Excerpts, two more tracks not listed on the above two versions were assumedly included on at least one other version of Wad - "In The Node Of Golgotha" and "Hippy Smell."
The first 4 tracks from The Big Timmy Wasserman Tape are from the Wad sessions ("Seconds," "Wayne's Pet Youngin'," "King Henry," and "Squelch Th' Weasel").
"Ho-Ho" (aka "Ho-Ho The Clown") is also thought to have been recorded during the Wad sessions.
It is unknown how many other songs were recorded during the Wad sessions.
