Bring Out the Foos: Live 1996 is a live album by Ween, released on February 27th, 2026 on Rhino Records.
It chronicles their last 8 shows using the DAT machine on tour whilst opening for the Foo Fighters.
Description and History
Ween's stint opening for the Foo Fighters began immediately following the release of 12 Golden Country Greats, though The Country Tour would not begin in earnest until later in the year. During this period many tracks were adapted to live DAT accompaniment for the first time; these include Voodoo Lady, Piss Up a Rope, I Can't Put My Finger on It, and The Golden Eel; which saw its live debut in this era.
This release features various previously uncirculated soundboards from Ween´s long time sound man Kirk Miller, with master tape transfers done by Chris Buly; an Archivist best known for the Ween sanctioned Boognish Rising fan compilations.
Bring Out the Foos was announced alongside a relaunch of the Ween store February 12, 2026. Previously in the month a cryptic Instagram post of Boognish and the caption "Is this thing on, mang?" was followed by the announcement of Europe "90".
The blurb on the Ween store reads as follows:
Previously unreleased compilation of the best tracks from Dean and Gene's run opening for the Foo Fighters in 1996 (the final time they played live with only the DAT machine backing them). Hear the boys run through some very brown classics in front of crowds with varying degrees of love, hate and apathy.
