The Country Tour refers to two series of live dates as performed by Ween. The first of which, a handful of shows taking place immediately following the release of 12 Golden Country Greats, is more of a warm up, which is followed then by a 21 date tour of the USA in October of 1996.

Leg One[edit | edit source]

The first "Leg" of shows to promote the 12 Golden Country Greats album is actually more like 3 close one off shows plus a a short tour of "The Jimmy Wilson Group." The first show, taking place on June 21st, 1996, featured Gene and Dean playing a show with their DAT machine as backing. This was then followed nearly a month later with two shows in one night at Tramps, New York, with a six-piece backing band made up of the session players hired for the 12 Golden Country Greats album. Likely due to both the fact that these were two shows in one day, and the fact that they had a larger backing band that needed to learn material, there is little variation in the two July 19th shows.

The tour also saw Ween playing several then-unreleased songs, such as "Booze Me Up and Get Me High," "I'll Be Your Jonny on the Spot" & "Waving My Dick in the Wind."
