Recording and Composition
Gene Ween sings the lead vocals and Dean Ween plays guitar and drums.
Deaner talked about the song in a December 1990 interview:[1]
Well there you go. The song "Nippy Wiffle" was inspired from the title, and we fucking kicked it. The song was totally nippy wiffle. It seeps wippy niffle from every pore.
Live Performances
Only two performances of "Nippy Wiffle" are known to exist from 1987 and 1988,[2] although it is extremely likely that it was performed much earlier from its mention on a setlist in the inner collage of The Crucial Squeegie Lip.[3] A recording of the 1988 performance is featured on the A-side of The Live Brain Wedgie!/Wad Excerpts - this version features flange and delay on both the backing track and guitar, and has an extended instrumental jam in the middle.
