Song Details[edit | edit source]
Although recorded as a Ween demo while the band was still together, "Stay With Me Daddy" is often more associated with Gene Ween's solo career. The song dates back at least to late 2008 when Gene played it live twice with the Gene Ween Band.[1]
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Why is the sky blue?
Where are you from?
I'd like to see
Hawaii if I save my money
I love turtles
But I hate to dream
Cause deep in the night
I only have myself to frighten
And that's why it means so much
Stay with me, daddy
The city is a bang town
The ocean's so cold
Drop me in
And watch me swim like a big girl
And if I need to cry
Or run away
Follow me
You know I'm watching
And that's why it means so much
Stay with me daddy
Why is the sky blue?
Where are you from?
I'd like to see
Hawaii if I save my money
And that's why it means so much
Stay with me, daddy
