"So Many People in the Neighborhood" is a song by Ween from the 2003 album Quebec.
Song Details[edit | edit source]
Dean Ween has described "So Many People in the Neighborhood" as "more of a tone poem than a song."[1] The lead vocals are sung by Gene Ween, who is also credited with keyboards and drum machine on the track. Dean Ween plays all guitars, bass, and drums, and is also credited with vocoder.[2]
An early demo version of "So Many People in the Neighborhood" was released semi-officially on The Caesar Demos. Much of the demo track was used as is for the final album version.
"So Many People in the Neighborhood" has never been played live.[3] According to Dean Ween, "We tried once to load the backing track into Claude's sampler, but he didn't have the techs to get it happening."[4]
Lyrics[edit | edit source]
Official lyrics were printed in the Quebec liner notes:
So many people in the neighborhood
I don't know if they're very good people
How's about a piece of pie? (ding dong ding dong)
Socks and lox and cocks and rocks stay inside, stay inside[5]
