"Ooh Va La" is a song by Ween. A Quebec outtake, it is known in two very different versions.

Song Details[edit | edit source]

In 2003, "Ooh Va La" was officially released as a bonus track on a Japan-exclusive edition of Quebec. On early versions of the album, it was included as track 3. [1]

Much later, in 2011, a completely different arrangement of the song (with more of a heavy-rock feel, closer to how the song is played live) was included on The Caesar Demos, a semi-official compilation of Quebec demos.

Gene Ween played "Ooh Va La" frequently between 2007 and 2015, both solo acoustic and with the Gene Ween Band. Ween themselves only played the song a handful of times in the Quebec era, but have brought it back for some performances following the 2016 reunion.[2]

Lyrics[edit | edit source]

I'll say all day as I sit, laze in the sun
Cream pie and a apple thai made the consumption fun
Tricky Dick's got some lick to smoke, so prop me up if you please
Stuffy eyes tell lies, but you can't disguise the truth

Ooh va la pootie mootie, he sang
Ooh va la pootie mootie

Dreadlock in the moonlight, bald head in the sun
Lunch dried up, I pulverize and feed to the young
Like a lick off the Asian barrel. What kinda trick do you have up your sleeve?
I'll plug it up, I'll put it back, go in and rescue me

Ooh va la pootie mootie, he sang
Ooh va la pootie mootie

Ooh va la pootie mootie, he sang
Ooh va la pootie mootie

Ooh va la pootie mootie, he sang
Ooh va la pootie mootie

Ooh va la pootie mootie, he sang
Ooh va la pootie mootie
