Song Details[edit | edit source]

Recording and Composition[edit | edit source]

"The Wind" is in the key of A minor.

"The Wind" is the second part to the Big Timmy Wasserman/The Stallion track "Grepäk" - both were recorded at Andrew Weiss's house the night he got the keys.[1] The version of the song from the Big Timmy Wasserman tape features the song slowing down and rewinding shortly after the two-minute mark, cutting into effect-heavy ambience from "Grepäk", but an extended recording from the Weenradio.com broadcast was posted online by Ween Archived in November 2021 that goes on for 4:35 and fades out without the tape rewinding.[2][3]

Live performances[edit | edit source]

"The Wind" was first played live on July 26th, 1990 during the Live Weed Whore broadcast, and was performed a few more times over the early '90s. It has not been played since 1993.[4] All recorded live performances use an alternate backing track featuring the Alesis HR16 drum machine present on The Pod with a prominent tambourine.
