"Echoes" first appeared as the closing track on Pink Floyd's 1971 album Meddle.

Live Performances[edit | edit source]

Ween and False Front performed "Echoes" in its entirety (up to 38 minutes) on two known occasions: once in the summer of 1992,[1] and again in the fall of 1995 as part of the Trenton Avant Garde Festival.[2][3]

Dean Ween staged another performance of the song in 2014 during the Ween hiatus.[4] The 2014 performance also featured Mean Ween (Chris Williams), and former False Front members Guy Heller and Bill Fowler.[5]

References In Ween Songs[edit | edit source]

A sample of ‘Echoes’ from Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii can be heard at the end of the song "Birthday Boy" on the GodWeenSatan album.[6]

The lyrics of "Ocean Man" (from the album The Mollusk) also contain an ‘Echoes’ reference. “Ocean man, take me by the hand / lead me to the land / that you understand” mirrors a similar passage from ‘Echoes’: “And do I take you by the hand / and lead you through the land / and help me understand, the best I can?” [7]
