I guess it doesn't matter if you use the same symbol or not, just something to draw attention to the right area, and a quick note in the refs to explain what it's for. Please only use this if you have to, i.e. when someone has *already* added lyrics with a mistake in them. Lyrics are a bit of a special category in my view - I'm usually a big fan of half-assing things and fixing them later, but I think we need to be pretty anal about transcribing lyrics. Not to be too dramatic, mistakes happen (and don't be an dick about it ffs), but I do strongly believe we have to take avoiding misrepresenting the work very seriously. And I'm now realizing it's surprisingly complicated to find a solution to this when you don't have a solid correction to make; it's actually way easier to work on making sure you're super confident about your transcription before you add lyrics to a song page. Anyway, things can always be fixed, and I'm not having a go at the person who edited this page whatsoever (it's pretty much spot on apart from maybe two words). It just literally is easier on a practical level, and makes it less likely that people will try to fix it and make a different mistake, gradually leading to what I believe sociologists refer to as a clusterfuck.

I'm using the demo from the Gener's Gone EP as the gold standard (official release), but it's often helpful to use the live recordings for comparison. Not this time though, I still have no idea. It might be a good idea if we pick a symbol or something for when you find a lyric that's *definitely* wrong but you don't know what the correct one is. I feel like such a philistine putting a big ugly INCORRECT LYRIC OVER HERE in the middle of a beautiful song lol. But I don't want to just leave a misheard lyric there to calicify either. For some reason wrong lyrics on the internet seem to bury themselves in people's brains deeper than any reasoning can touch...unless there's an annoying thing reminding them that it's wrong every time they look at it. That's the only thing I learned from briefly dabbling in Genius editing. (That and don't do it, start a wiki instead.)
